You’ve been working hard on gaining quality followers for your social media accounts. You’ve spent time and energy engaging in conversations, crafting the perfect posts, using the right hashtags and it’s working.
But one day, you wake up, pick up your phone and ohh no – you’ve LOST FOLLOWERS!
Cue dramatic music.
It happens to all of us. People follow and unfollow accounts on a daily basis. But I’m going to tell you a secret. You ready?….. It’s actually a good thing! Yup. Losing followers isn’t bad.
If an account decides to unfollow you it’s because they are a Follow Unfollow Account, they weren’t really engaged with your content, or because you’re not serving what they are looking for in their life anymore.
It has little to do with you and more to do with them and what they need to see in their feed.
What this means for you is that you just continue to focus on your remaining followers and gaining new ones because, let’s face it – we aren’t meant to please everyone.
No need to question what you are posting or what you are saying or how you are engaging. I understand that the word “followers” insinuates that a larger number is better – but it doesn’t. It’s about quality, not quantity.
So as Elsa once said, “Let it go” – and focus on your brand, your voice, and those who are still following you.
